How to #RepurposeYourTOD

You’ve finished burning your TOD Candle, and now what? Well great news… your TOD Experience doesn’t finish here… follow these steps to clean your jar and give it a second life in your home!

1. Add Boiling Water

   Pour boiling water on top of the dried wax, filling the jar until 2-3cm from the top. You will see bubbles appear - this is oils from the wax starting to come to the surface. Be careful when moving the jar as it may be hot.

2. Wait 12-24 Hours

   Try and wait 24 hours before you move onto the next step, but if you’re like us, you’ll want to get started straight away… so overnight (or 12 hours) should be enough time.

3. Remove the Dried Wax From the Surface

   You’ll see the wax has now settled on the top of the jar. Remove this layer. It should come away in one piece, but it could break. 

4. Empty the Water

   Once the top layer is removed, empty the water. You will see some residue on the bottom, as well as the wick.

5. Remove Remaining Residue

   Clean out the remainder of the jar, including the wick. Some scraping may be needed but the majority should come away easily. 

6. Wipe Clean and Use!

   Last step is to wipe the jar clean. You may want to wash with dishwashing liquid and hot water.
